To provide specialized instruction to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the classroom.
- Plans curriculum and prepares lesson plans and other materials, considering factors such as individual needs, abilities, learning levels, learning styles and physical limitations of students.
- Collaborates with regular education teachers in providing an appropriate curriculum for students with disabilities based on the Tennessee general curriculum.
- Evaluates student progress and establishes student behavior.
- Attends and conducts IEP meetings.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Valid teacher's license with appropriate Special Education endorsement; strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills.
This could be part-time or full-time shared with another location.
